Missionaries of Mercy

Society of Missionaries of Mercy
The Society of Missionaries of Mercy welcomes men and women, single and married, Priest and Laity who desire to celebrate a spirituality of mercy, participate in the healing ministry of Jesus Christ and serve as a lay missionary to families, friends, neighborhood and the community at large.

History
In 1988, Fr. Bill Jarema opened the Mercy Center for Healing the Whole Person in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The initial training programs included the National institute for Inner Healing and the Rich in Mercy Institute. Since then, we have established satellite programs in New York, Maryland, Virginia, Wyoming, Colorado, Louisiana, Montana, Texas and mission Projects in Trinidad/Tobago, West Indies; Mandeville, Jamaica; St. Vincent Island; Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, and Mississippi.

Membership
We welcome men and women who wish to join us either in prayer and/or service as: Associate members: These share in our daily work and prayer and assist us in our mission efforts. Vowed members: These are formally committed to Our Way of Life and become stable members of the Society.

Our Way of Life
Our Way of Life is a four-fold awareness that we share in common:  a celebration of our spirituality of mercy, dedication to the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, living the vow of conversion of life and the prayer of mentoring that is two-fold: Monthly Veneration of the Cross and the shared Examination of Consciousness.

Spirituality
Our prayer, whether it is private or public, centers our life in mission and relationship with Jesus Christ the Divine Physician. The Society as a whole celebrates the feast of the Triumph of the Cross. We also gather with family and friends once a month to share in the Veneration of the Cross. Once a week we journey together to share the prayer of mentoring so that each person may review their life and work and listen to the Holy Spirit for personal healing, reconciliation and God’s will.
