Mercy Center, Inc

Dear Friends and Alumni of the Mercy Center and Society of Missionaries of Mercy,

The Mercy Center has been striving to be creative in how to manage our program expenses while holding tightly onto our limited resources and hoping for some relief in this time of economic recession. Some of our staff has been proactive and secured part-time jobs so that they could afford to continue their work with us as providers at the Mercy Center. Our volunteers have been incredibly generous in helping with lunch and dinner preparation of meals and working at the front desk during our business hours. With prayer and perseverance we believe the Mercy Center will get through these tough financial times. We still remain a center dedicated to the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, an oasis for personal growth, and a therapeutic community dedicated to seeking and sharing the gifts of healing, wholeness and well-being.

In January of 2009, the Missionaries of Mercy spent two-weeks fixing and repairing the Emmaus Centre in Trinidad/Tobago, West Indies. Fr. Bill, Donna and Margaret provided the Spiritual Directors Training Program for men and women from throughout the islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Part Two of the Spiritual Direction Training Program will be offered in January 2010. Fr. Bill will be taking a small team of Missionaries of Mercy to Ireland and England (2009) and provide a variety of workshop and the second half of the Christian Leadership Intensive for the Diocese of Brentwood, England.

Please drop by and enjoy the new “Story Garden” that is in the making. This meditation garden is being created so that our family and friends and program participants can enjoy our campus and find a quiet place to meet God in the stillness and beauty of our new garden. If you have some plants that you would like to donate, call Tim and we will be happy to add them to our Story Garden.

As we look to 2009-2010 we pray for good health and a joy filled spirit for all our staff and volunteers especially the Mercy Center staff: Fr. Bill, Tim Fogle, Bill Winaski, Donna DeBartolo, Margaret Hensen, Nancy Gresham, Nancy Taylor, Josie Gallegos, and Heidi Miller. Thank you to the Mercy Center Inc. Board of Directors for your guidance, wisdom and concern. Thank you to all our benefactors for without your financial support we would not have accomplished 21-years of service and ministry. Thank you to our friends and program participants – you have shown us how to grow and continue to search for the gifts of healing, wholeness and well-being.
